It also provides for the appointment of special public prosecutors to handle cases under the Act.

The Act mandates that all cases under the Act be tried in-camera, i.e., in private.

It also provides for the protection of the identity of the child victim and witnesses.

The Act imposes stringent punishment for offenders, including imprisonment for life and fine.

The Act also provides for the rehabilitation of child victims.
